Don’t be the next statistic

Recent government research found that almost half of all UK businesses and 65% of medium-sized businesses were hit by a cyber attack in the latest UK government survey. And Hiscox reported a sharp rise in number of incidents with 55% suffering an attack in 2019.

To make matters worse, there’s a major global shortage of cyber security professionals, with 54% of UK businesses reporting that they lack the necessary internal skills needed to keep threats at bay.

Research by Verizon found that 71% of breaches are financially motivated and 56% of these took months or longer to discover. The Online Trust Alliance reported that 95% of incidents can be prevented with basic cyber hygiene.

Unfortunately, most organisations only discover they’ve fallen victim to a cyber attack when it’s too late. The sooner you take action, the better protected you will be.

“In this day and age, the stability and security of our IT systems is mission critical. As a public sector organisation, we needed a partner who could oversee our full IT estate and help us meet complex supply chain and regulatory requirements.”

“Having worked with Informadist Limited for a number of years, it made perfect sense to outsource our Security Operations Centre (SOC) to an existing partner with a deep understanding of our infrastructure.”

Why is cyber security important?

With so many challenges associated with cyber security, it’s easy to see why some businesses are unsure whether to invest.

Common perceptions include “it doesn’t affect us” or “we don’t have the budget”, but this is a global priority and it’s more important than ever.

So what’s at risk? Cyber attacks pose a huge threat to business continuity, with a loss of data and productivity. Attacks are costly – in fact, cyber crime is predicted to cost companies £7 trillion worldwide by 2025.*

Not complying with GDPR regulations can result in hefty fines, not to mention the negative publicity and damage to both your reputation and customer relationships.

With a constantly changing environment, and attacks becoming more frequent and sophisticated, it’s critical that your business is fully equipped to deal with the newest cyber threats.
